While the 4-way Tele switch isn't a new concept, Obsidian Wire made it amazingly simple for me to add the 'humbucker mode' (both pickups in series) without needing to solder anything. Humbucker mode is punchier in the low midrange, which is great for me as a solo guitar performer, as I don't lose the richness as I do with the traditional parallel setting. Plus, the treble bleed gives me a solid tone regardless of the volume knob position. Now I want to install this in every ASAT and T-style guitar I own. I couldn't be happier!
I use the Obsidian prewired electronics for my new builds as opposed to replacement wiring. It looks clean and professional, and they use all top quality components. It has been a little tricky installing into the LP since the circuit board is flat and the body top is arched, but it is not too hard to get it set by adding set nuts underneath and removing a bit of wood.
Options for 250k OHM pots would be nice. I use Lace Alumitones that are humbuckers, but prefer 250k Ohm pots. This becomes even more apparent when switching to single coil mode. I have had to add 470k resistors in parallel to try to compensate. Other than that - I love this setup!
Probably the best wiring harness available today. Gilmore mod is excellent. Quality components.

Awesome harness, super easy to install, sounds great! I especially love the 250k/500k selector switch because I have Dimarzio Relentless J pickups.

Install notes: All I had to do was enlarge the holes in my pickguard, otherwise fit perfectly.
I upgraded my Squire Classic Vibe 70s HT HSS with this. I already liked the tone of the guitar, but literally when I played my first few strums after installation my jaw was hanging open! I have no idea how it improved the sound of the guitar this much, but wow! I’m so impressed.
It’s true what they say, “install is easy, not instant”
This pre wired harnesses are my new go to way to upgrade. The ease and quality is totally worth the extra price.

Perfect to replace the oem electronics on my 2013 Gibson Les Paul studio wich had some electronic problems. Easy install, works great with the Gibson pickups, also the split coil. Better sounding, less noise. I had already installed a kit in my Stratocaster and just as this one I the Gibson one seems a great kit to me!

Install notes: Actual install also required figuring out that the little hump between the rear pot and switch needed some clearance to fit. Took an additional 10-15 minutes. I was expecting that for the pot, though, so all good.
Very well done. Retrofit worked well after a bit of carving. Quality, feel, and tone was just what I was looking for. Great experience and exceptional product. :)

I purchased a PC board from this company almost a month ago. It was almost $200. I got a follow up email immediately, but it took almost a week to receive a tracking number. The tracking number has been invalid from the start. Customer service has refused to respond to even one of my several attempts to contact them in order to merely either provide me with the product or make resolution. I feel like I’m almost being trolled at this point because their customer service is literally that nonexistent. I’m gonna have to go through my bank to get my money back. What a huge letdown.
