The Vintage 3-Way for Tele keeps the familiar Telecaster pickup configuration while replacing the stock electronics with a professionally assembled ObsidianWire harness. Across the range, ObsidianWire uses custom CTS® potentiometers, Oak® and Schaller® switches, PureTone® or Switchcraft® jacks and polyester film capacitors.

4-Way Tele Wiring

The Custom 4-Way for Tele adds a fourth pickup combination by wiring the neck and bridge pickups in series. This produces a higher-output, humbucker-like sound while retaining the three familiar Tele positions.

The circuit also incorporates an ObsidianWire custom-spec treble bleed for improved clarity when rolling back the volume, along with modified volume and tone tapers for smoother control across the full range.

A 4-way installation requires a suitable three-wire neck pickup or a three-wire modification to a traditional two-wire, metal-covered neck pickup.

Nashville 7-Way Tele Wiring

Want even more pickup combinations? The Custom Nashville 7-Way for Tele adds additional switching options to the traditional Tele layout, including the ability to bring the neck pickup into combinations that aren't available from a standard 3-way switch.

Universal Tele Wiring

The Custom Universal for Tele is designed for more than the traditional two-single-coil setup. It supports SS, HS, SH and HH pickup configurations, making it a useful option for modified Teles and custom builds where standard Tele wiring isn't enough.

Solderless Pickup Changes

All of these options are built around ObsidianWire's solderless approach. The harness arrives professionally assembled, allowing compatible pickups to be connected without repeatedly soldering inside the control cavity.

That makes the system particularly useful for players who experiment with different pickups, guitar builders and technicians who need to make pickup changes quickly and cleanly.
